The (SMT) certification is offered through the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). It covers the proper maintenance and cleaning of natural and human-made (cultured) stone, ceramic tile, masonry, and grout surfaces. Upon achieving the certification after passing a test, students will know how to perform maintenance-related tasks involving stone, masonry, and ceramic tile surfaces. IICRC grants one continuing education credit for every hour of classroom training, 14 CEC credit hours required every two years to renew IICRC Master and Inspection certification.

The Coval Stone Certification Course (CSCC) on October 19 will instruct students how to identify and qualify stone, and then how to apply Coval stone to protect its value, meet client expectations, and earn money with the products. The course is under consideration by IICRC for Continuing Education Credits.
Coval Technologies held its first CSCC in Sugar Land, Texas on October 4 with 20 participants. Coating and sealer distributors around the country are invited to offer the course to installers. For more information, contact rfalzone@covaltechnologies.com, or call 281-566-4277.
