Artist and sculpturer Jon Koehler used Coval Metal Coat over an acid etched stainless steel monument piece to lock in the “rusted” patina and protect the artwork from further corrosion, weathering, and graffiti. A clean up visit was made 1 month after initial install once the poured concrete base had cured.

After weeks in the California sun the baked-on tape adhesive was easily removed with a mild cleanser. The tape around the poured concrete base had to be chiseled away and edged up with a razor knife. Coval Metal Coat withstood both mechanical abrasions with no signs of chipping or scratching. This realworld performance is ensuring Jon’s artwork continues to look as impressive as the day it was revealed.
